Erosion Repairs to Massillon Levee

DRS stabilized the geometry of the channel and the levee template by arresting erosional and related processes leading to loss of terrace soil and embankment material. The erosion treatment included 11,500LF of treatment (7,500LF East Levee and 4,000LF West Levee) consisting of a large stone berm with keys, stone filter material, and levee slope restoration.

The stone slope stabilization project required temporary haul roads to be built, traffic control, grubbing, debris removal, excavation, stone placement, erosion & sediment controls, material staging, and access ramp maintenance. Water levels in the levee were monitored daily for work safety.
